Prior to integrating Deliveroo with Lightspeed, we needed two tablets: one for the restaurant and one for the delivery service. At the end of the service, we had to re-encode each of the delivery orders in the Lightspeed till system, which proved a waste of valuable time.
Our stock is directly tied to the Lightspeed platform — if we sell a burger, for example, it is immediately deducted from the stock count. This way we control stock levels in real time which was not the case with deliveries and lead to incorrect inventory numbers. Now, orders placed on Deliveroo are automatically added to Lightspeed, which saves us a lot of time, and most importantly, ensures our margin of error is next to zero.
We also had a lot of problems with the VAT as it is different for the room service and the delivery service, so had to input rates manually. Now it is automatically adjusted by the checkout system which recognises any order placed on Deliveroo.”
